War

Today I looked up at the sky,
I was so upset that I started to cry,
Thinking of men miles away,
forced to war with nothing to say,
Flying planes with many a gun,
some in the water with nowhere to run,
War its called brings on many fears,
but to me it brings mainly tears,
What does war mean I heard a little girl say,
Not even adults could answer,
they just turned away......

I appreciate the soft handprint this poem places on the page, it resonates with the sadness of the soul of the Poet. If I write of Capital Punishment there is an outcry from many who say it is inhumane and yet many of the same see only collateral damage and not the human casualities of the war that they vote for, it is quite inexplicible. Your poem speaks sotto voce, ponders rather rather than lectures, well done indeed.
