I ate her words

I ate each word,
you wrote,
feeling it wash
my soul -

not what you say,
but, the path it journeys
through my mind,

like a bullet, bleeds,
the heart in its dying -
tenderness, becomes mist;

like the cold-warmth
of morning -
a capture of the impossible

    Your words are simply food for the soul and I see the hostess agreed. Congratulations on the gold.

    This is phenomenally beautiful and I mean that. That first stanza just reaches out and grabs you from the get-go. Marvelous imagery and the pace of the poem slinks through gracefully, tenderly and in a most loving manner. Such a creative display you have offered here. Thank you for sharing your words with me and best wishes to in all of your endeavors. Keep that quill dipped in ink and ever ready for use dear poet. Good luck in the contest!
