I look at the disaster
the tornado left behind
wonder what did I ever do
for the world to be unkind
I look up to the heavens
wonder God why was it me
Is there some words for me
to help fulfill my serenity
Where do I turn to, what to do
who do I call upon to follow through
How do I pick up the peices of my life
God please I pray guide me in my strife
Wrap your arms around me so tenderly
I love you dear Jesus and pray to thee
Help me through the hard times, see me through
just be beside me, Lord, in all that I do
Thank you lord for protecting me
giving me your love eternally

I liked this poem. Its words ring so true. You couldn't have said it any better. I am sure that is what people say when they go through such awful times. Great job on this. Thank you also for commenting on my poem. Hugs to you.

This is definitely words that people are living by right now. Windsor is definitely praying that it's over and will all be back on track soon. Thanks for entering this lovely piece.
Now for the actual comment about the content of the poem, lol. I think there were definitely parts where the rhyme was forced and where the flow was off because there was a rhythm going with your words that was naturally picked up, and at parts it wasn't so smooth. But I liked it and I wish you luck!
Thanks for entering and for the kind words!
Meg
