Beauty.
When most people hear that word,
They think of physical appearance.
Something beautiful is
Something pretty,
Gorgeous,
Attractive.
It's been best said already,
"Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder."
When I see you,
I see a whole different world.
I see a bright,
Happy,
Intelligent,
Caring,
Amiable person
With dreams that they can touch the sky.
You have no idea how hard that is to find these days.
You have a genuine love for life,
A natural aura of cheerfulness and decency.
I hold the door,
You return the favor.
You wish me good luck,
Assure me that it'll all be okay.
I walk in the door in a pissy mood,
Your glowing smile cheers me up again.
Just when I think society has all gone to hell,
You remind me that there's some good left in the world
After all.
These are things that most people would take for granted,
Pass us by unnoticed and
No one is aware of them.
Let them be blind.
For, I will not stand to
Let the light in the world
Go unnoticed.
Superficial jerks can
Live in their world of
Hiked skirts,
Low-cut tops,
Fishnet stockings, and
Overly-applied make-up.
They have no idea what they're missing.
But hey,
That's the world as it is in the
Twenty-first century.
That's why,
When someone like you comes around,
It's rare.
You're rare.
You're my sweet, sweet rarity.

Pretty heavy, sentiments there. This must be a person you escape to when things are going rough. A very descriptive piece.
