God was bored.
What was the use in creating man and woman
if all they did was worship and....eat?
And if they didn't have a choice as to whether
to worship or not, what was the point?
So He decided to give them......choice
Adam was bored.
Things were quiet and peaceful.
The lion was lying with lamb, the wolf with sheep.
But the days seemed so long, there was nothing to do.
No weeds in the garden, he'd heard all of God's stories-
and Eve was so distant.
He needed something.......new
Eve was bored.
for Adam was nice, he was safe, dependable-
he had dominion over the Earth, but he was so plain.
So lately, she would find her attention wandering;
and like every woman who has since descended from her
she thought the snake looked.......interesting

Wow, I really have no true critique for this. I admit its a different style than I am normally drawn to - but I really enjoyed the piece as a whole.

The whole poem dripped dry humour, with excellent lines like:"he'd heard all of God's stories".
Had my smug English mind chuckling all the way through...
But the last two lines: hmmm, true comic punchline!
"and like every woman...she thought the snake looked.......interesting".
Full of fun, technically excellent, easy to read - and speak aloud.
