True Sight

Though we walk a narrow path as just a spec of sand
I look up and see the setting sun cover this great land
for the sun set, my child, I see not as the days end
just as a time of rest

As that rest dwindles new light I see again
little one, listen to me well
don't look at the sunset and see the days end
look at the sky and witness Earth's natural beauty again...

Uplifting poem. Doesn't address Autism or poverty, but it is positive non-the-less. I like that it encourages a different perspective. It teaches a lesson, I believe, through a metaphor.
