My Eden

Missing image

My garden is the place for me it fills my every need,
to sit beneath my shady tree with poetry to read.

First thing in the morning on a clear bright sunny day,
to sit and drink a coffee that will see me on my way.

At lunchtime it’s a sandwich and a welcome cup of tea,
a bowl of fruit and ice cream the best that there can be.

An afternoon spent dozing, just to wile away the hours,
butterflies and buzzing bees pay court to stunning flowers.

Candles in glass vases on the table give a glow
as evening time comes creeping, the skies put on a show.

A lovers meal unhurried, eyes speak unspoken words
to a chorus of the evening, sung by many sleepy birds.

A day spent in my garden is a day of pure delight,
from first thing in the morning, ‘til the darkest of the night.

If you need a haven, then please give me a ring
join me in my garden and see what the day will bring.

Oh, I'd love to! I feel the same way about my garden. It's always the best place to be, silently working away and loving the feel of the earth and the sound of the world going on around you. When everything is chaos, there is always the garden.

Oh, how I too love my garden. I work in it every single day off and all my spare hours too. One day, I may actually may be finished and get to sit back and enjoy it from a distance as I sit on my porch, but for now, I am usually shovel in hand, sweat dripping, and in the midst of it, loving every minute. Lovely poem. Made me wish for the weekend so I can dig holes and mow the grass once again. Jennifer

I love to sit beneath the sun and write a verse in rhyme
And sitting in your garden sounds quite perfectly sublime
But as it's well past midnight shall we say "another time"
But I'd love to sit outside and write with you.
