They told me that I am too black, so started bleaching myself.
They told me that I am too white, so I started tanning myself.
They told me that I am too fat, so I started starving myself,
Rigorous blood, I started choking on.
They told me that I am too skinny, so I started cutting myself.
They told me that I am too dumb, so I dropped out of school.
I looked in the mirror, and gave up on those sad eyes looking back at me.
They told me that my hair made me look like a salve, so I got extensions.
They told me that my eyes are boring, so I started wearing color contacts.
They told me that my lips are too small, so I got injections.
They told me that my breasts are too small, so I bought myself new ones.
They told me that I would not win, so I started losing.
They told me that I would die, so I started killing myself.
Hiding wrists and hidden thighs during summer became a trend.
They told me that I would be nothing, so I started fading.
They told me that God does not love me, so I stopped praying.
But then one day, God asked me “Who made me?”
I said “You, my lord.”
“Am I not perfect?” God asked me.
“Yes! Of course you are.” I responded.
God smiled at me and touched my soul on that beautiful day.
They told me that I would never be perfect, so I told them
I might not be perfect in your eyes, but in my creator eyes, I am perfect
For he had made me as I am.
Author notes
I might not be perfect in your eyes, but in my creator eyes, I am perfect
For he had made me as I am.

it's so sad that we have to try and pretend to be someone else or do something different to fit in with life. It hurts me that acceptance is null in society.
