The forest of green growing things
Protected by an entity far older
Than the threes to be protected
One with the forest, yet seperate
The history of her beloved palace of wood
The subject of all pages, births and deaths
Recorded painstakingly over time
And with the deforestation of her beloved,
Only one death shall be noted with finality
The protector who could not defend
Against the machines of man.

Amazing depth to this well penned verse. I, too am saddened by losing so many trees. You certainly wrote outside the box. Can't sort out how the title relates to the poem, unless I am reading it incorrectly. I read this poem as an entire metaphor of the life of a tree. I think this can be interpreted many ways! Thank you so much for your entry.
