Seat belts on buses?
Yes, we need that.
Anything
That would have prevented
Dr. Amber Volakis
From dying
Is a good thing.
But seriously--
My sister once rode a bus
That overturned.
I got the call at 6am.
My world shook with
Earthquake tremors
As I ran to my parents' bedroom and
Awaited news.
Luckily, she wasn't badly hurt.
I am all for requiring
Seat belts on school buses.
Compliance, however,
Is the next hurdle.
Author notes
I'm still sniffling over Amber from 'House' and thanking God that my sister didn't end up in a similar condition.

Luckily none of my family has even been in a bus accident. I'm glad your sis is/was ok. Thanks so much for posting this.

Oh, yes, she was fine--I think a few bruises and a sprained arm. But she was very skittish about riding any kind of buss for several years after that. Any time she heard tires skidding on gravel, that made her nervous.
She had gone on a church retreat, and when the lady from church called to tell us, I very nearly said "Oh, shit!" into the phone. (g)
