Embracing nature,
bringing unto thy self
the purity, peace and beauty
of the natural world.
Spellbound by energies
pressing on all sides;
no fear will tweak my soul, now.
No outer force will break my strength.
I am a being of empowerment.
I know what I desire, require, can gain -
how to aim to achieve and respect
each and every living thing.
I understand
the simplistic beauty
that is life,
the complex wonder
that is magick,
the calming knowledge
that Wicca bestows
upon each waiting mind.
Serene surroundings summon mind
and soul.
Forging connections with the surroundings,
aiming to manipulate the world,
for the better.
Helping those who help themselves,
and keeping common sense
and wisdom
close at hand, and
side by side.
To indulge in this culture,
it takes
Will
Strength
Wisdom
Heart
Purity
Depth
Knowledge
and somewhere to store all the knowldege.
It is not for the weak minded.
Not for the closed soul.
So bear your spirit to the earth,
and see how she will repay you...
I am Hers.
Author notes
My personal views on Wicca.
I also faced the problem that Wiccan was not in any dictionary, however that is because they do not detail any Wiccan phrases, just the culture itself. Wiccan is the adjective of Wicca in my books, any day.
Please provide critique and opinions on my view of Wicca. I would love to discuss them sometime
BTW My religion is largly wiccan, largely else - I completely embrace the idea of wicca but have not as of yet been able to practise, as such. I sort of wing it - the way I do everything, but knowledgeably, so that it works in my favour. I dont think that's really fair, and would also appreciate people's opinions on that...
Cheers for reading and if you relate to this drop me a line!

Merry meet,
Congratulations on winning the Bronze. You state very nicely your feelings and position on Wicca and being Wiccan. A couple of suggestions(if you don't mind)
on this line:
"bringing unto thy self"
I would change "unto" to "into",
the reason is that I can bring unto you but you bring into you. See what I'm saying?
Then the following line:
"to indulge in this culture"
I feel that it would sound better if it was:
"to partake in this culture"
to me this sounds more as if "you" have made the decision and not doing something that you know that you shouldn't really do but feel that you can do it this one time. See what I'm getting at, regardless this is just my opinion and in no way negates your accomplishment in winning the Bronze.
Congratulations again on your win.

And this is where I fall
I know so little of wicca things. Although you have made it sound very interesting and something that I would look into eagerly. A great expressive piece, very well penned hunni

Oh i can totally relate. I wish i would have read this poem a while ago otherwise i would have already commented on this piece. My mom was a wiccan before she passed away. Thats the way i grew up. Im very proud of it and my mom. Im glad to see others who share my view. This is a beautiful poem, very beautiful indeed. I liked how you ended this one also.

I have long been a reader of all things Wiccan. It is a subject that has fascinated me, mainly because of it's sense and simplicity. This poem encapsulates what I have read to-date. It is beautifully expressed and flows well. I really liked it.
Congratulations on an excellent poem.
Be well,
Slayer

Hello TheSilverQuill.
I think you have expressed yourself clearly and obviously being a Wiccan is something intrinsic to you. You said somethings I totally agree with, for instance no outer force will break my strength. Very true, and in my opinion that is how it should be. Total sovereignty, no cloud on the outer should block the rays from your inner. I have to say I would have liked to have read more though.
I wish you well on your journey. My regards.

This show that you have wicca in your heart, my friend. I also know that I see fear within. Don't be afraid of the magic, just be careful with what you do. You are getting the grasp at things, I see that in the words you have penned here. I am really so proud of you. I am proud to call you my fellow witch! Good luck in the contest! Blessed Be! ♥ ~~Iridessa~~
