You left behind your loved ones
for the job you were called to do
defending our great country
the owner of the red, white, and blue
Your heart filled with mixed emotions
as you boarded your plane today
our prayers will follow with you
may strength fill you in every way
A soldier's job is the hardest one
but you wear your uniform with pride
May health and peace join our prayers
may God be standing at your side
Until the day you are able to come home
to see your loved ones once again
know this country loves all of you
For our lives is in all of your hands
Sacrificing your own lives to defend us
our beautiful country too
I can only say these simple words
"I love each and every one of you"

touching in every respect
Couldn't have said it better, I feel the same way, I truely am against war, and I'm not to happy with this war in Iraq. I don't really see why it's needed at all. really war solves nothing, But the troops, I agree I feel for there family's, I wish them the best and to return home safetly. U honestly made me feel something in your words, I stopped to think for a second and reflect on whats happened, what will happen and hopefully in the future. We will all get to see the troops come home to the ones they love. that will be a great day. very good love your work.

I love this poem, then again i have a sister in Iraq right now so any thing about sodiers is like, amazing.
The last two stanzas could each be an ending. I like the second to last, the last stanza is kinda a repeat of the second to last one. amazingly done
