Oh Captain! My Captain!

Dead Poets' Society
echoes of the past
sound with brilliant
clarity in empty halls

Take a stand and capture
the moment that breathes
with vital energy, yours.
Deal with life as you will.

Break through barriers
and discover yourself...
See where the pavement leads
and accept the consequences.

Oh Captain!  My Captain!
We always belonged to you.

I like this write very much, especially the image of "the moment that breathes"...
A great poem dealing with the Dead Poets Society and encouraging the readers, just like the teacher Mr. Keating encourages his students in the story, to make something extraordinary out of their lives.

I also love the exclamation in the end, emphasizing how important the existence of a person like "Oh Captain! My Captain!" in everyone's life is.

I enjoyed reading your poem a lot, thank you for entering my contest!

Great images and message. I came up with a saying I like . "Mid-life crissis are the revolts and revolutions we didn't confront in our youth."So to those of us that are young lol... lets put our armmor on and battle for our place in the world and battle for our dreams
