A Questionable Statement

We'll be together forever,

he whispers carelessly in my ear.

I want to question him about it,

but that's not what he wants to hear.

Forever, it's what he said to me,

but does he truly understand?

Is he actually willing to spend with me,

an eternity, is this what he planned?

Eternity just doesn't exist,

so choose your words with care.

Forever is only a deceiving lie,

or am I just naively unaware?

Author notes

Eternity is actually a pretty hard prompt, surprisingly.
Nothing really rhymes with eternity except for fraternity and etc.

Thank you for entering my contest.

I'm glad the word worked out for you

Its a poem to easily connect with, as many people have wondered weither or not someone who promised them forever, really even knew what it entailed. In most cases, they didnt.

    Nice job.

I liked how you used your word prompt to write a mimi story about your feelings in response to his words that he whispered in your ear. It's true that sometimes they whisper sweet nothings, without realizing they are making a lifetime commitment when they say forever, eternity, or always. I loved how you
used the prompt and 'eternity' in that sense. very good poem, I liked it very much!!!

I was looking through the entries...to see whos ready for judging and whos not...and I noticed your notes. Remember, I said you dont HAVE to have the word in your writing. Its a PROMPT. A TOPIC. Youre supposed to be INSPIRED by it. You dont have to literally have it in there, so long as I can tell what it is.
