There was this crazy bird
I think his name was Sam
He ran faster then my car
He ran circles around me
He even played my guitar
Taking me on a chase
He left dust on my car
And every word I said
He wanted to erase
Faster then I could talk
On this crazy chase
And when I think I had him
He would leave without a trace
Bleeping his funny words
And me back in the chase
I thought I finally had him
He was playing my guitar
And handed it to me with a beep
And jumped into my car
Locking all the doors
And smiling with the grin
He beeped one last time
And whoosh he was off again

Katie responded< Roadrunners can't play a guitar, then she laughed. Thanks for the fun entry. I love roadrunners….the real ones, not the cartoon. But the cartoon is fun as well. When I lived in Texas, I found one in my back yard one day. I stood watching him and then much to my surprise he flew into the tree, sat there for a few minutes and then over the 8 foot fence to the neighbors yard. I had never seen a roadrunner fly so I was so thrilled to see that.
They really do run, and prefer to run rather than fly.

This was a very cute piece. I loved the sporadic rhyming... it flowed well, and never really sounded forced. These words that you penned sound like they could be lyrics to a children's song or something like that. Great write!
