An Ode to Louis

An Ode to Louis

I despise crimson,
Rusting away at everything,
Making this place bleak,
Decaying the remains,
Of my once lavish mansion,
Now lay in ruins.

Beetles crawl about,
With their pointless lives,
To only meet there end,
Beneath the sole of my boot,
Squishing like the rats did,
When I tired of their filthy blood,
Craving that of humans.

It seems night never falls anymore,
Ever since that tower was erected,
Sending off harmless UV rays,
That can kill one such as myself,
So I must hide in the far corners,
Cringing from the light,
Wishing that the tower would fall,
and night would creep back in.

I fear that I may be the last one,
Most I've heard were killed off,
Not many venture out nowadays,
Even the day walkers cease to show themselves,
Wonder if they are still breeding in the sewers,
with all those chemicals,
That mutate and deform their bodies.

When will our dark god,
Ascend from the blackened sky,
Raise our brethren from their graves,
Taking over what is rightfully ours,
Destroying those who mean us harm,
Obliterating that nuisance of a light,
The only thing that keeps us in hiding,
Till they find us and put an end,
To our not so meaningless lives.

Then I can taste of their precious blood,
Enslave them once more,
Drive them to the brink of insanity,
Striking fear into their hearts and mind,
Creating a world of never needing darkness,
Where light shall never rear it's ugly head,
Where night walkers and day walkers alike,
Can live and feed.

I feel the time is approaching,
When we rebel against the humans,
And take the world in a swarm of blood,
Filling rivers and feeding fires,
Torching the world in our hatred,
Scaling the vastness of time and space,
Plunging us deeper into eternal rest.

Author notes

Wrote it because I wanted to write about vampires, let a few friends read it, said it reminded them of "Queen of the Damned" so thus the title was born, well a friend suggested the name.
