DO NOT GRIEVE

Do not grieve!
For surely, we have shared the best of times. Let the memories of
those times sustain you in my absence.
The ship is safe.
The crew spared.
And you...
You are alive.
All else is secondary.
Do not grieve, my friend. For I did what I did to save someone who
meant... Still means more than life itself. I did this to save you.
My choice may not have been an entirely logical one but for me it was
the right one.
In our life together I have learned that life of total logic wasn't
enough. That without love...
especially your love
there is only an emptiness.
An emptiness as vast as the space you and I claim to know so well.
Do not grieve...
For I perceive that there is no finality to life.
That only one ultimate truth exists
that whatever Gods created you and I...
in their ultimate wisdom guided our paths
intertwining them into this very special bond we share. They would not
allow it's end.
No! this bond will survive as will you and I.
Do not grieve, my friend. For though at this present time we are to be
separated in time we shall be together.
