Flourish Please

Sexuality equals popularity
avoid this, a disrespectful plot,
it loots and spoils our females.

She thinks:
uninterested American society.
I must be sold like clothing
its talent versus beauty.
Isn’t this always the solution,
the reason you adore me?

Will you answer me?

He thinks:
it’s truly not me versus you
not male versus females,
not watchers versus objects,
it’s objects magnifying ideas,
she’s attractive only by shape.
It’s understanding and seeing
a healthier depiction,
this will flourish much more.

"a healthier depiction, this will flourish much more." I agree. Why do men get sports heroes and women get beauty heroes? I try to wear classic clothes. The cuts change slightly to be fashionable, but nothing extreme. So often I see a young woman wearing the latest fashion, and it just doesn't fit her body. She would look much better in her own skin if she just found some tamer clothes, i.e., I don't think there's anything wrong with a little belly chub, but don't wear skin-tight layered shirts and low-rise jeans.

I very much agree with the logic and pretense behind this piece, and I think it's important for basically every high school/college/even middle school girl to read. Yes, I'm sure it's very nice to see beautiful women on television and in the movies, but there is only one type of 'beautiful' shown, in a world where no two faces, no two bodies, are alike. The depressing part it, women are letting this happen. after everything that what fought for in the womens' rights movement, we, as a gender, are regressing hideously. The poem itself was short and sweet and to the point, and was incredibly enjoyable to read. The only I would add is that in line #7, the 'its' should be "it's". Congratulations on penning an incredible piece.

o.o...Kind of true...especially in high school. ^^;; wow...
    This poem makes me somewhat sad...^^;;
I'm going to go now...but it was pretty good...just thought you should know...o.o it's pretty much true...in away.
But sometimes...girls think guys won't like us if we don't do certain...things..>.> <.< Yeah...and a lot of guys just expect to get those certain things....and they get mad when they don't...then again if they get mad then they aren't worth it but when it's the majority of males in the area...o.o in any given area...then...o.o well it becomes a conflictual problem. >.>...that's all I have to say for now on the subject. Good Piece.

    P.S.
o.o yeah the media has a lot to do with it...
oh and o.o men in general...kind of pressure us into looking different and doing things....o.o so yeah...^^;; it's kind of a combo...-_- we have no chance...someone help..lol

I actually don't care how other people view me, I do not throw myself to the wolves just waiting for a bite and I'm not trying to put myself into the medias view of us. I really like how you put this, I think a lot of people could get a lot of help just by reading this.

    Amazing piece! =]

The sad thing is, a lot of women allow themselves to be viewed this way. I love what you wrote after the "She Thinks"

Sometimes women view themselves exactly the way the media portrays them. As long as woman are allowing themselves to be viewed this way then that is how we will always be viewed.

Now, what can we do about it? - thats the question

Again amazing write, you portryed so well in this!

Beautiful write, and I couldn't agree more. It's awful the way women are depicted in the media, as stick figures. I see it so often on fashion shows and even on regular television programs. So many actresses these days look underweight. Very few real women look as thin as actresses on tv do. Thanks for sharing this wonderful piece.

    Honestly I represent well

for myself, and how I think of 'Me' not perfect, but the beauty of my Imperfections reflect like the image of a Rainbow from a spring's rain.
This write my friend is what it is...not offensive, but in Truth for women.

    Well done!
