I lie in tranquility,
Warmth enfolds my new skin,
Memories of what came before
are lost within my new memory,
I am, but who was I?
A deep drum sounds rhythmically,
Sleep little one,
I hear from far, far away.
Waters run red,
and air bubbles splatter.
I lie in tranquility,
Love coccoons my new skin,
No memories of the recent past,
A switch has been flicked.
I am here.

The subject matter is well handled here, invokes many thoughts within the reader, the one that you have prompted the reader with "I am, but who was I?" most of all.
Having said that, I'm not so sure it's a question I would like answered, might be all sorts of dark, horrible secrets hiding there.....
Fuck it, I was probably just a frog. (pardon my French).
Good write.

'I am, but who was I?' A question I often ask and am sometimes astounded by the answers that come to me; that is, until normal brain function takes over and I'm unsure again. I enjoyed this!

Wonderful creation from the prompt! This is so full of life, love and innocence. It's just plain beautiful!
These are my favorite lines:
"Memories of what came before
are lost within my new memory,
I am, but who was I?"
In your sixth line did you mean: "sounds rhythmically"?
Wonderful verse, good luck in the contest.
