Men are Like Chocolate

Men are like chocolate,
they fall into cliché –
rich, moist and satisfying but
I’m allergic, my skin breaks,
the red ache of rejection
hangs heavy and no one
offers that shared look.
I don’t encourage,
my head is turned to
the breath who lives inside,
where he waits.
I’m never allergic to him;
a chocolate melting heart
slowly devoured, we roll
into one,
satiated.

    Hahaa... I couldn't...

    resist this title. Hahaha... I usually like to disappear because I have to dress up when meeting people with my girl. Hahaha.... Not because of anything else. I just hate to be dressed up. A bad rash I get from fancy clothes. hahaha... I enjoyed this poem. Thank-you for being such a grand poet.

    Ooh, I like this very much. Men are like a bad rash - they show up whenever you're trying your best to avoid them, but disappear when you want to treat them or show them to someone...

    I love the simile of this piece, men being compared to chocolate, I have to agree lol. Powerful through the vocabulary used within and the imagery it presnts of what the result is when comparing them both together, as they share the same nature of the result. This was great! Keep up the great work!

    I agree men and chcocolate normally do not got ogether, normally its women and chocolate. LOL. Maybe I am being stereotypical.

    thats the first time i ever heard a guy being compared to chocolate' lol. I think this is a great write, fun stuff. Allergies are so hard to pin down, I know, i went for the test, all the bandages on the back, 20 or so, dang thing itched like the dose. lol. good luck in the contest.
