You're never too old
to live again;
Maybe not to the full
physique of youth,
But you can always be
young at heart.
I think we have three
times to live:
Here in this life, once in our dreams,
and then in the next.
There's plenty of life ahead of you,
plenty of opportunities.
Don't let today's troubles get you down
'cause, look out!
Here comes tomorrow, and that's when
you have to chose:
To live, not just survive;
to fight the good fight without
ever giving in.
You have a lot ahead of you
to look forward to.
It's not just another day, another year,
another mile marker
To the end (I'm being morose, but sincere).
It's a chance to celebrate life and enjoy
what you've got.
You'll only be happy in life
if you appreciate
the present, what you have now.
Today is a gift - Carpe Diem!
Happy Birthday!

Birthdays are gifts; your life is from God. Birthdays aren't meant to be funerals, even when you look forward to the next life.

This poem made me cry, but happy tears. It is true that you live three times if not more. Who knows what's after life, after death, and after everything.
Well written

Happy Birthday to your dad.. I like the poem..

I like this poem, I clicked on because it would have been my Dad's birthday today, and I was feeling sentimental about it. I like the honesty in your poem, and the straight-forward approach to the whole cycle of life, dreams and death. Thank you for this! I hope your Dad has a great day.
