She stands alone in a world filled with hate
Braking the pattern
Only she could know my pain
For the human touch we yearn
Swimming against the flow
Of superficial sorrow
In the wake of calamity
Only she could stand tall
Searching for answers
When I have nothing to find
She was far better for him
Than I could ever have been
Still the jealousy burns
Stinging in my tears
I know that I would be the one to fall
But she loved him
So did I.
So I took him away
Where no one could have him
It was all I could do
To protect my fragile heart

Very nice poem. =] I really like the last stanza, and that one "So did I." line. Very well emphasized.
