This is an awesome poem. I have seen many pop up thunderstorms like this. 2 of my cats cower under my Mom and Dad's bed. LOL Enjoyed the read! Thank you for entering my contest.

The haiku is such a challenging form; here the depth of reality, captured in so few words, is outstanding as well as astounding.

    Well written Haiku...
It amazes me that in so few words such imagery shines through.
    Thank you for sharing

so many are handling the contest well

the poem does justice to title with own descriptions

it reads quite cleanly and clearly, which I know is often a critique value from you... who practices it then. however, the middle line is packed a little into almost a tongue twister so perhaps just a comma would help pronunciation there. imo.

the content is nice connecting animal behavior to weather, with resonance how maybe we'd get early or alternative warning of severity seen from start.

    good race of words,
    babies are my subject
