Unappreciation is very difficult to deal with,
because your emotions are the first to suffer.
All efforts to reach around the cold sholder are deemed futile,
and you contradict yourself with each buffer.
Your communication connection is deeply severed,
because the day long conversations go from many to few.
Even though you see this as a potential warning sign,
it all becomes irrelevant when they say "I Love You."
The warm and comfortin embrace they give your soul,
eventually becomes undeniably cold.
You begin to put in much more than what they put out,
settlin for weeks without someone special to hold.
Your hunger for their lust that was once so golden,
suddenly feels deprived and tarnished.
No favorite or special technique in the world,
can stop the hopelessness of a desire bein garnished.
Your nights of hearing their heart beat during slumber,
are replaced with huggin a pillow soaked in tears.
The truth of dealin with a faded and forgotten love,
brings forth the worst isolative fears.
The determination to keep the candle burning,
seems to melt away with each drip.
Your hopes of regaining what you keep losing,
grow dimmer and darker with each guilt trip.
You soon begin to question yourself,
askin if you will ever be worth their attention and their time.
The constant lies and emotional starvation they bring you,
is best desribed as a love crime.
Eventually, you begin to return the favor,
by doin things the free and single always do.
You've come to terms with the love that was lost,
and become content that you two are through.
After putting in so much emotion and support,
in the end, all you have to show for it is an empty, lonely, and broken heart.
Accepting a love long lost to Time isn't all that bad,
but knowing When To Give Up is the difficult part.

Well done here. Completely true too. There's always that part of you that wants to keep trying and keep pursuing. Thats always hard. I really like this because its easy for the reader to relate to. And even though I'm a tomboy and don't want to admit it.. yes this piece does make me feel better
so thank you haha
good luck and thanks for entering! -
