quite literally.

swallow this confused dagger, a drifting lullaby.
this heartache i tear to kill me inside.
i feel you inside--i felt you die.
i remember the times...
we laughed ourselves to cry.

you deserve better than him.
he doesn't deserve as great as you.
if only you knew what it meant.
encircle the fading symbol.

unrequited love has a name--scars on my arm.
the strum of your guitar and the razors such felt.
so enamored by your voice, my heart breaks.
miles behind you lie...
yet for you i would die.

oh, beautiful girl on the perfect green hill--
your hair flowing past.
i recall the way i saw my heart crystallize--
and my reflection in your life.

for you, i would die.

...and i used to think it was real.
where i met you there.
always cold and alone,
but i can't stand to see you happy?]

[i thought i killed your demons--
well, i was in love with my own...]
