Holding on is harder than it seems
When you're reaching for
So much more
These are the words that kept me going
When I lived my life knowing
I wouldn't eat
Couldn't sleep
I cried at night
Was it right
I couldn't put up a fight
But I won't let it take my life
The blood the bruises
I'm always the one who loses
Now it is all over
There is no closure

True.
Those first 3 lines are so true. It's hard to find closure when abuse happens so constantly. Fine work.

I wrote this poem thinking of all the neglect and abuse i suffered while living with my sister's father. when i left i was 65 lbs anemic and on the brink of death the first three lines are from a song that id listen to when i thought i couldn't go on
