An inconvenient slip-shard of time ago
we were almost ~ we were ~ not
but tucked between horizon and heaven
are handfuls of heartsome, burdensome,
stipple-sweet sensatory memories
sputtering that I do ~ remember ~you
and you do not ~ remember me
I touch my skin, know your stroke;
by simple press, taste, I recall you
fingers on my hands tell our story,
one beady brought-about tear, by another;
my feet know the path by stony bruises
weight of me is doubled
because I carry history for both of us

Wow! This is such a sad, but beautiful write! A lot of soul put into this.
'I touch my skin, know your stroke;
by simple press, taste, I recall you
fingers on my hands tell our story,
one beady brought-about tear, by another;
my feet know the path by stony bruises
weight of me is doubled
because I carry history for both of us'
One can relate to this easily. The rememberence of someone not present through touch or any other familiarity and even though that person is gone, we will always carry that part of them with us. Such a wonderful write! thank you for entering it

Sighhh...Such beautiful sorrow, such sorrowful beauty. Such life & love. Good luck in the contest, my Friend.
