There I was face down in the dirt
Feeling abused alone and hurt
So down I thought that I might die
I was hoping somebody might help me out
Heal my wounds and my self doubt
But everyone just passed on the other side
Then I looked up and saw a man
He said hey I'm a Samaritan
And I thought great this man will really care
But he said you got to understand
That I'm the crap Samaritan
He stole my watch and left me lying there!
Author notes
Everybody misunderstands the parable and equates Samaritans with goodness, while it's all about him being the exception- that's my excuse for writing a daft poem!
