The setting sun's fading eye
gazes blearily through the lacy
trellis of the tree's branches
and bisects the land
with dark shadow-line.
A Conradian epiphany
of shade and light,
piercing my heart of darkness.

This is so lovely to imagine that I went back to look at the prompt. Such amazing detail you capture in these 10 lines. The last thought caught me holding my breath. I too was hooked on "A Conradian ephiphany".
Bold and poignant wordpaint!

I just added you to my finalist list...I love how some of these lines are written. and the end line is just a neat contrast to the rest of the poem. I love the first 4 lines and then "a Conradian epiphany of shade and light"...ending with that great last line ...the poem is just wonderful.

this is beautifully written...I like the contrasts in this poem and the imagery is beautiful...thank you for writing this piece for my contest...i really enjoyed the read

Do you really mean disect or bisect? The latter means to cut in two, separate.
This is a short, sharp, damn fine poem.

An eloquent painting masterfully done with potent chiascura, my Friend. Good luck in the contest, Scribe.
