sweetly cold marble holds
my daily kitchen in antique
moments of old world charm
and inviting seconds of wet
sensory appetites to control
with nature's reward and bits
of yesterday's bread with wine
creating a perfectly balanced
picture for my pleasure, a
collection of worn stoneware
combines with unpeeled fruits
and scents of ripened warmth

Interestingly set lines ...
The phrase "ripened warmth" is apposite because the painter has used warm colours. It has been a pleasure for me to read your poem and not to be tempted to look up at the picture! I do not need to. Clarity ... yes. What is sweetly cold marble? I guess it is a response to the portrait that is treasured by you. You have convcinced me that this painting has pleased your senses.

...scents of ripened warmth. I wonder if they stand within those two tall wine bottles, holding fast a kitchen of unity?
Nice work. Best of luck in the judging. ~Pamela

Hi Poetess,
Once again, you have caught the detail with blinding clarity.
Bread, red wine, and apples, all I need is some strong cheese to make a perfect meal.
I’m learning,
Love, Peter

Clear, visible and nice description of yesterday's memories preserved within the lines of your poetry. Nice done.
