Don't Let It Be Me

You've gotta understand
This isn't what I want
The screaming and yelling
Your destructive serenade
The reason that you're mad
The matter behind the meaning
Don't let it be me
So sick and tired of being
The pillow case of great escape
Put your head on my shoulder, cry if you need to
I want to put a stop to the madness
Put the cork back in the bottle
I really don't care
As long as you're there
And happy

Is it really that bad
To be around me
Darling, when will you care
That my heart is pounding
I suspect never
Which doesn't surprise me at all
Just don't let it be me
That ruins it all for you
I don't wanna be that burden
I don't wanna be your mistake
If I could only tell you
How much it would mean
If I could stay...

This is so scary how much I can relate to this poem. And if you do not know me as a judge the more I can relate the better the chance of placing.

What a sweet write! It just seemed to flow so easily, and it told a wonderful story of compassion.
    Well done.
    Love and Light.

Oh I love the lyrical sound in this, it flows like a song...I can't imagine anyone who could write like this not wanting to be in your arms. This is beautiful. Love, Chez
