Sweetie-darlin.
Milkshake--
will you ever know
that your life nearly killed mine?
I split open like an egg
for your sunny-side-upedness.
They called it arrest of descent.
They all know
that you are first
and you are last.
You are my very clever opus,
my velvety peach stranger,
my precious aluvial plain.
What will I give to the perfect bowl
of your heart?
What do your hazel eyes see?
Do you look in my eyes and
see my own Mama there,
as she weeps and teaches me?
Please tell me what you think

Thank you...she is my universe! And how I waited for her! She looks at me with such deep, deep, fathomless focus that I do truly wonder, how far back into my generations/her generations can she see?
She was delivered via emergency c-section after 22 hours of labor. I stared into the eyes of my own mama during those many hours and thought I saw the beginning.

perhaps the reflection in your eyes is amazing

my two children were born via cesarean section....
far from the way I thought it would be and I was told .. I could never have another..
it's a strange place, birth without birth....or was at least for me...and you have captured something of that here, . that after... .
magically ...
so just let me say...
bravo..
