row after row

dawn’s soft light beginnings
momentarily realigns my whole being -

tender songs release, nudging impulsive smiles,
revealing the growing season’s fruits from within.

row after row of pictures,
my orchard’s harvest -
still out since Mother’s Day -

twisting a white linen handkerchief
I polish each, in turn

This is lovely, the rows of pictures, like trees in an orchard, the people in the pictures the fruit of your life. I love the image of polishing them, love and care.

I like where you took the contest prompt(s). The image of "row after row of pictures" is so very effective and links so well with the orchard theme. And being a mother too I can so identify with this poem... the light, the fruits within - precious!

Thank you for a lovely entry.
