Hello,
We haven't met yet, but we were going to, you know.
The first look that we would have had together would have been enough
to seal happiness for a lifetime.
I can imagine the recognition I would see in your bright shining eyes as you looked into my face, and realized I'm the one.
But it won't happen now.
I'm dying, and we haven't even said, "Hello".
I've been waiting for you for as long as I knew my other half was out there.
I've wanted to be held in your arms, and be cherished by your words and actions.
I've wanted to cook your dinner, and sit in front of the fireplace with tea and just talk with you.
I've had to do a lot of things alone, as I've waited.
Doctor visits, and pain in the night.
It'll all end very, very soon.
I hope that these words and wishes somehow make it to you.
Just a few more breaths
and then I'm gone.
I love you.
Whoever you are.
Author notes
I had the idea to write a love letter to the person that is meant for me, but we haven't met yet, and I'm dying. So what would I say? I think this would be it.

A very beautiful piece. I brings with it feeling of hope, and regret all at once. A very bitter-sweet situation.
Thank you for your entry.
