She looked at him and gave a small smile.
A smile to her best friends,
her forever crush.
They had been friends for awhile, but that's all he wanted.
That's what he told her, at least.
She accepted it with a smile,
heart breaking inside.
She had written a note,
explaining her feelings.
But never gave it to him.
He watched her from the corner of his eye.
He had told her how much her friendship
meant to him.
Yet, he had wanted to say something otherwise.
He saw her daily, friends forever.
But with that one smile,
his whole heart broke.
They wanted to be together,
but his parents forbid it,
and hers didn't care.
A forbidden love, a scary thing.
But they can't stop their feelings,
only hide them from each other.
Only friends, he says;
I love you, she thinks;
A forbidden love, their parents agree.
