Taste it
Upon my tongue
Head back, mouth open
In my days of young
Sweet rain
Pours upon my face
And I live in
Another time and place
Lightening scores
The dark sky
Twirling in circles
Hands held high
Breathless wonder
Of a younger time
When rain was a pleasure
As adults we whine
Oh sweet rain
Bring me home again
To a time when upon me
There was no sin
Infectious laughter
And innocent eyes
In a time capsule
Of past lives
Author notes
I used to dance in the warm summer downpours, and loved every moment of it.

Congrats
on the silver! Frans -
Here in California we are rarely blessed with enough rain so that every raindrop is treasured. Your poem took me back to the days when I looked for puddles in which to jump. Peace, Liz

Oh, this is wonderful.
There is life in this poem. The reader is taken on a brief journey to childhood - both 'rain' and 'innocence' have become a yearning. I am happy for memories such as these
- we can relive depth, happiness, inner pleasure and serenity. It's a sad thing to grow up!! Frans
