The Hushing Silence...

Missing image
A gnarled lemon tree, and gardenias
The hammock swings toward soft-warm-rays.

Fire ants, and jealous love-lit stings.
Calamine lotion days with portable radio.

One boy being pushed at the merry-go-round
Another at a chain link fence waiting.

Japanese beatles jarred up smell musky
So I let myself, let them, fly off to die.

Alligator lizards, and black widows for study
A soccer ball pounds the side of a house.

Off in the distance
A hushing silence.

This touched me greatly...I love the various imagery and how detached you seem from all of it...I almost feel like I'm there...And the feelings that you experience...you capture them very well also...I love this to pieces. Thank you for entering and good luck.

A nice reflection of life - I love that last line - "Off in the distance. In this hushing silence." It fits in nicely with your general theme - while adding an deeper introspective twist to your meditation.

    Bravo

A meaningful study in life observation. It is amzing all that one can take in and how one can translate allthat he sees and hears into valid emotions.
