From One Texan, In Response To Another,

    1. Do you believe the,for lack of a better word, quip "It is better be have loved and Lost than to never love at all."?

I have finally reached a maturity, I can appreciate the wisdom within that saying. However it is often coated with pain and loss.

However it is often from fires within the heart that true wisdom can be gained. Rather it be about others or ourselves. So yes, give me the former of the two.

    2. In your experience's in life do you know of any one thing you would change about yourself to influence your future?

OMG, what a list that would entail I am afraid. I would change mostly how I hve taken care of this mortal shell I reside within. For so many people place value on appearance, yet I would do it to possible have a better chance at long life. One in which I hope to share with friends and family for years to come.

    3. When starting this Contest of sorts, what type of questions were you most afraid of getting asked?

If you read my poetry, you wil find words of love and friendship for another. It is an aspect of me, I hold close to my heart and soul. While I may write of her, I was afraid some would question me in regards to her.

For you see, we two, she and I are two private people. Even holding our own thinking processes and reasoning from the other for the longest of time. The affairs of my heart are just that mine. I do not mind speaking of her, but only when I invite another into my space.

4 Do you believe that age puts a restriction on friendship and interaction, or that maturity knows no number and can breach stereotypical age categorization of people?

No age is not a number indicative of anything so much as it is a state of mind. I believe age is only sterotypical, when we allow it to influence our behavior, much like an elderly person feeling they have the right to be crabby due to being elderly.

We should all continue to stretch the bounds of our being at all ages, in the endeavor to continue to grow. For when that light inside is extinguished, we begin to slowly die.

    5. Tho I'm young, I have a few life experience's that have changed and shaped me in ways almost to hard to explain. What is the "harshest" way you have been changed?

The harshest with which I am willing to share, would have to be divorce. For I have experienced it twice firsthand. My parents have been married for 41 years now, while I have not found such success.

There is nothing of divorce that is anything but harsh. It forever changes everyone involved to some degree. Normally becoming more jaded and doubtful of the existance of what we once believed in during our youth. Matters of the heart should never be seen as anything but the highest of hopes and the dearest of dreams.

    6. Ok, a little on the lighter side now... but do you believe that bad spelling makes you a bad writer?

A bad speller does not make a bad writer, however it does influence how you are perceived. Often overlaying the power of your words or message. For the first impression, is the one that lingers so easily within each person's mind.

    7. What is the one thing you want to experience most in life that you have yet to?

    Enduring Love

    8. Explain in the most simple way you can what you believe the foundation of a good and healthy Life is?

A realization that life is a gifting from He who created you. That in order for it to be lived to it's fullest you must do so within the confines of His will.

    9. The Saying "Don't Judge a book By its cover" Do you believe that it translates directly into human interaction specifically in the current era or not only fashion and trends but race and religion as well?

This saying transcends all avenues of life. I cannot think of any that it does not. For race, cultural backgrounds, fashion etc... are bt excuses we use for not dealing with our own internal souls.

For it is easier to perceive others as wrong rather then deal with the spirit of condemnation that resides inside. It is only by looking inwardly at all times, do we not allow ourselves to see color, culture etc...

    10. Where do you place your Faith?

First and foremost, period. For i have learned the hard way, all that is gifted to me, is only a result of my obedience within that faith.

    11. Do you believe that Music, Video Games, Movies and other things in "pop culture" in recent years are the reason's for the suicidal kids and school shootings are do you believe blame should be placed not only on the parents but the teachers preachers and other adults in the child's life?

The responsibility lays with the family unit. Too often we trade our childrens innocence for our own pleasures. Thereby leaving them unattended to dabble in other things.

However let me say that video games etc.. are not the main reason children are suicidal. These factors are but the superficiality wrapping an array of problems beneath. Some which were there for some time long before aa video game brought about a decision with somewhat of an ease.

    12. Do you have a favorite singer, band or artist?

George Strait, George Strait and George Strait. Oh by the way did I mention George Strait?

    13. Simple last question, How often do you take the time to sit back and think of things... nothing planed or decided upon but, actually just sit back and let your mind decide what it wants to think about today?

My mind is constantly doing just that. For you see I drive a truck for a living, so often my route is one well known to me, so my mind goes on a vacation as the body goes into autopilot mood.

I think I do what you speak of often. I believe also I have the maturity of lessons learned to reflect the frequency of this event in my life.

Thank you for your time and consideration of the contest.

I enjoy these questions --- they're a bit deeper than the others in the contest and they explore a lot of different areas. :-)
