Some put their message in a bottle.
Her only hope, was to put, hers in sand.
So Mother Earth would call to Heaven
to report, a missing Angel, to the old man.
She had ventured through the pearly gates
to go cloud hopping once again.
Misjudging the distance between the clouds
she fell down to the world of man.
Her wings, were still growing
feathers, still lined in down.
It’s a wonder she landed on Earth
without breaking her little crown.
As the tide slowly rolled on in
inching closer to her note in the sand.
A fully grown Angel approached
and gently took her hand.
But mommy dear the sky was clear
it was a bright and sunny day.
I wanted to see how daddy’s doing
since the accident took us away.
Come with me, it’s time for bed
you’ve done enough today.
I’ve made for us, a bed of clouds
on which our heads we’ll lay.
Daddy knows you love him
he knows I love him too.
But God said it’s not yet his time
to come back to me and you.
But some day Daddy will be here.
You’ll just have to wait and see.
Then we’ll need a bigger cloud
to hold, our happy family.

I really enjoyed this alot. It had beautiful imagery and I love therhyme and flow.
It was really an interesting contrast to other poems that usually refer to the living and the feelings as opposed to the deceased.
Thank you for entering in my contest

Excellent
I loved the little sense of humor in this... a child would do such a thing... even an angel one. I love the way the child wanted to see her daddy... and the mother coming to get her. And the promise that daddy would some day... not right now.. but some day be with them there in heaven.
Excellent write. Loved the picture. Great job. Thanks for sharing this with us and thanks for entering it into my contest. -
This is such a powerful and tender write. Comforting to the young angel who does not quite understand and longs for the one she loves. This really touched me. This flowed so well. Thank you for entering my contest and best of luck to you. May your ink never cease to flow.

Awww this is so beautiful and sad at the same time. I hope that you can learn to be at peace with this, though obviously you are already doing this wonderfully, great message for others in similar situations.

Started slowly to me, and the rhyming is a bit forced in parts, ie "family" and "see" however it's good, the message is nice and I love that picture.
Congrats on the HM.
Got the link in your comment to a piece entered in my contest and thought I'd gander. The overall message, I believe, has the power to bring comfort to those in mourning.

This is such a sweet poem, the loved ones watching over from heaven, and it really captures it because a child would not fully understand. Great write, thank you for entering the contest. Good luck.
