The journey of learning starts in the
Blissfulness of the hour,
& the darkest of moments.
Never ending, like the waves creeping
More & more inland everyday.
Never leaving us in a sinister abyss,
Like dawn after twilight.
We start to learn that
The world is falling,
& God is not pleased
With the sin that corrupts us,
& what we’ve become.
We start to see a new face of
Starvation; aching the children
Of today & tomorrow.
We learn that a genuine smile is
Hard to come by; but when it does,
Little of us know how to be thankful for it.
We start to learn that goodbyes
Can be the most casual thing,
Or burn a hole in your heart,
& friends and family are the only ones
Who can fill up the hollowness.
We learn that unadulterated promises
Can only be sealed by a complete
Agreement of two hearts,
But never sealed with a kiss.
Sand grains flow through the hourglass,
& time will never wait for us.
So don’t linger around for the right time
To say “I love you” or “I’m here for you”
To someone who deserves it or really needs it.
Peace, hope & love;
Learn it the best that you can,
When you still have time by your side.

Every line spoke to me, and in such a gentle and peaceful and powerful voice... a true poem. Thank you for entering.

Thanks so much for an uplifting wonderful poem!
I love the theme..and the write...The more you can leave the word "and" out of a poem...the better it flows....."Sand grains flow through the hourglass,
& time will never wait for us." Doesn't need "and" just a comma.....Well penned...best wishes in the contest!
Write on.
*PEACE*

wow!

This piece is just awesome!
I love the sadness in the beginning which is accentuated with darkness and moves towards hope in the end.
It had a few elements of the poem but you made it your own. simply beautiful!
The seventh stanza blew me away. as did the others but that one made so much sense yet seemed to waddle in the pool of doubt. sorry bout the metaphors.
The title was perfect. The ending stanza was just right. well, all the right things for a winner.
I really do hope you win somethng big. Good luck!
loveees,
transit~
