What’s in a mother?
Now let me think
Is she all loving
Pretty in pink
Does she inspire me?
Now let’s think about that
She read all my poems
Gives me a pat on my back
Is she there in my health?
Is she there in my sorrow?
She was there yesterday
And I hope for tomorrow
Is she there with her wisdom?
Is she with her smile?
Well, she gives that look
Like I should listen awhile
Yes she has all of these things
She been there for me
And I want just say
I love her you see
So, to a mother what can you say?
Thank you for you
On your special day

I think there are so many things about a mother that we can focus on and show that they are in words as you have done.
Welcome to allpoetry and enjoy the site
Good luck in the contest

The beat per line are sometimes off, but other than that, you had some very powerful and strong words here. A touching write.
