A Schizophrenic's Hawk

May could set your soul on fire.
The flowers growing from the green
eat me alive sometimes.
Beware for spring; the sun
will surprise you with sins
and bruises badly hidden.
Loss of health on a hazy day,
and no hope in the sight left salivating.
Beware for spring; the mother
turns melancholy this miniature month.
The father tries to pressure with painful
wisdom gained from false clarity.
The stranger might touch, with
influencing invitations.
Happy no more; death calls like
schizophrenic’s hawk.

Welcome to Allpoetry and thank you for entering the contest

An inkling towards the skin cancer one can get in the sunny days of spring? That was my take..

Interesting concept and choice of words, please put your option in your authors notes.

    Welcome to AllPoetry

"Beware for spring" should be "Beware of spring".
This is a very insightful poem and I have enjoyed it very much. The last line and this bit:
    "the sun
    will surprise you with sins
    and bruises badly hidden"
are very creative. And the whole idea of the poem, about each passing spring reminding us that times goes and we have to die, is a very thoughtful concept. Good luck in the contest.
