Flakey Lady Love

She was sort of pretty in a flakey kind of way
With a twinkle in her eye and a dimple on her face
She was no classic beauty but I thought what the hell
It was the nut I fell in love with wasn’t worried about the shell

She was no intellectual but had a sharp edge to her wit
She always knew how far to go and always when to quit
She had a cheeky kind of charm that made me want to smile
But how was I to know she’d only love me for a while

I was oh so serious and I thought she felt the same
But how was I to know that love to her was just a game
And when the game was over she would just pack up and leave
And I'd just be left wondering why it always had to be

Author notes

About a lady I saw in a park once, and she just kind of fascinated me so I fantasised- bit sad really!
