thought you were sleeping.
Author notes
My child died of SIDS in February.
This is about the moment I saw his leg twitch. I thought he was dreaming, still asleep, so I didn't pick him up immediately. I picked him up ten minutes later instead, to find him dead. If I had picked him up right when I saw him move, when he was still alive or dying but not dead, I could have saved him, could have done CPR until EMS or someone came... but I didn't.

How heart breaking for you.
I'm so sorry.
I liked the gentle read of such profound sadness.

Honey, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Very moving piece & great use of ten words.
