Azure's Howling

My heart beats and the howling continues
The howling and my heart are the same
I can no longer differentiate the two
As I close my eyes I wonder where each lingers

Howling sounds so far away
And next to me
Moments come where I can feel the fur
Against my cheek the hot breath on my face

But my eyes fall upon only dead air
As if I dreamed the presence
A tear rolls down a cold cheek
Why I mourn the loss of something not there

Close my eyes and try to recreate
But the moment was lost
Swear I feel the weight of a head on my stomach
Fearful to open my eyes but needing to

The edge of my sanity tilting
Feels so real the fur against my skin and the warm breath
I can't fight the urdge any longer
My eyes flash open and for a moment I see it

The bright blue light that surrounds it
Eyes that are like endless universe
In that moment an eternal moment
I saw an intelegence so vast that time could not hinder

A moment later apophony
Flames licked its body but the creature stared on
It howled into the sky
I could see it now and everyday that passes

Beleived in brink of sanity
The more days that passed the clearer I could see
The sapphire eyes staring at me still
Their endless grace speaking to me

So many things I could not understand
Time lingers and my heart slows
The howling is a distant memory and I know
Know that when the howling returns
