Swirling azure oblivion
consuming depths within
Overwhelming tidal compunction
Conviction wearing thin
Drowning in remorseful thought
A bitter gulp of air
Constricted, restraining, tightened knot
Devouring all that's there
Instincts bursting forth with verve
An aching final breath
A gasping quest of steely nerve
The remnants of love bereft
Fearful hope emerging forth
Yet no heart yields to call
Sinking, helpless, no recourse
Again love conquers all
