Azure

The blue wolf slips through my dreams
Into my heart where it sleeps
I could tell you the story of how it came to be
How it reached to me from accross the land
To be here in my heart
But that is not a story I can tell
Sitting here with my fingers wrapped in its fur
If it was a cat it would pur

The etheral light that surrounds it is like
Nothing I have ever seen
His form is wrapped in blue
Appearing almost as flames surround it
A hand gently runs through the brilliant blue fire
Unscathed the eyes of the beast remain closed
As if he sleeps dreaming of wild things and distant memories

What I can tell you of him is that he is the wolf
Brilliant and blue he has guided me throu the darkness
Not into light but further into the darkness
Guiding me through the unknown to something
I am blinded in the shadows and can see only him
Continue forward I do hoping that I don't fall
Or lose him

He is always there
Checking to make sure I never fall behind
A kindness that strikes me odd
For a moment the saphire wolf pauses
Sniffing the air
Nothing surrounds him but the bleakness of the area
Of this I am sure
He crumples to the ground as if he was struck

He is in my arms in a moment
How I moved that fast I do not know
His eyes when they fall upon me
Are beautiful and I feel unworthy of the gaze
I can see words there and intelegence
Yet as hard as I try my mind can not comprehend his words
He struggles and stands holding a mournful look

He licks my face softly and then I know
Know that he is the future and he's guiding me on a path
A path he can see because he is the future
I keep thinking that this wolf is a he
But the more I look into the eyes the less I am sure its a he
The less I am sure that it has a sex at all
A true ethereal being

Phantom wolf others would call
I could no longer stare blindly
I knew now what it meant to follow the wolf
Where it would lead
As the path stretched before me the shadows lightened
Like the wolf was stronger and the glow grew
It seemed like the wolf held the moon close
So close that the flames were the embodiment of the moon

Burning away the shadows and the darkness
Turning the hatred I had had to ash
Causing my heart to burn with love
These things made me realize
This path that we followed would lead me to a point
Where the wolf would leave me

Then it would no longer be with me
The thought saddened me
Only for a moment I knew what it meant
Azure was coming and when it arrived
My whole world would change

A wolf surrounding in shadow
Zealously heading down the path
Under the clear night
Running loose and free
Everything forgotten but the wind


A child born of freedom
The wild endless darkness
It would never fear like most
In it the home would be found
Eyes of saphire will glow

And in the darkness Azure will return
