Silent Echoes

Is there really such a thing
as lonely silence echoing?
What I'm hearing I suspect
are piercing echoes of neglect,
vacuity of massive scope
from dying dreams and waning hope.

It would seem you have penned my soul.. I think my extensive depression, lonliness and hopelessness is all related to the neglect and abuse I suffered as a child. I oftern wonder, where I would be now, had my life not been stolen from me.
I always did want to go to College..
    • That is quite a statement you made there: "...had my life not been stolen from me." I would like to quote Franz Kafka, who once said in a letter to a friend; "Perhaps the naive person would want to kill themself and then mourn their death for the rest of their life." How could your life be stolen from you if you are still alive? We have FREE WILL available to us, all we have to do is claim it. Then, the past is irrelevant and we can choose any life, any character, any future we want. If you want to know how, simply IM me and I will tell you. Thanks for the comment.
  • Wonderful job, And you are never neglected, just put on standby for emergencies. This was great just like you are.

  • I hear ya! I think neglect can lead to lonely silence... last line was great!! Can relate to that..

This was a powerful write. Though it was short it seemed to say a lot. Also the second line was thought provoking.
Almost like an oxymoron. Can silence echo? Interesting to ponder. Thanks for sharing and best of luck in the contest.
