True Freedom

Broken and wretched, bruised and torn,
My Years trailed behind like broken wings,
With no will, no strength again to stand,

My heart now moved by conviction within.

Burning, such tears had I never shed,

As looking up did I see a lamb

Who wore a cruel crown upon his head,

Engraved with the wonderful name 'I AM'.

Deep red ran the wounds that set me free.

From that moment, God's child, eternally.

Well this is my moment, at the age of 19. I hope that religious writes are acceptable for this contest.

This is truly amazing. I came to the full understanding of Christ's sacrifice for me at the age of 20, and I have never looked back. After giving my heart over to Him my life has never been the same. Yes, I have had struggles, trials, and many hard things I've had live through in my life, but Jesus has been my strength through it all. I could never go back to the way I use to be after knowing Him who has set me free from sin, and death! I loved the way you described him as a lamb for He is the Lamb of God. Thanks for sharing this with me.

Stunning writing. I love the metaphor too. Amazing writing here. Great imagery. Very very profound indeed, and deep. Good luck in the contest my friend. Although, this is a trophy winner to me.
