Fell for her upside down on the monkey bars
First of many lovely places we called ours
Even at the age of six thought she was cute
From that one thought came dozen years of pursuit
Sure loved taunting her on the teeter-totter
Not knowing she was a Minister’s daughter
One day at school tried to scare her with a bug
Thinking it a gift; she gave me a big hug
And from that moment forward I was enthralled
As ~ for me ~ the first pangs of truest love called
On her tenth birthday she gave me a sweet kiss
Creating a feeling I could not dismiss.
For the next four years we each loved to play house
Pretending we were each others loving spouse
Then at fourteen, even though we were still young
This lovely young playmate gave me some tongue
As I lay thinking of her upon her back
I started having those damn Horny attacks
At sixteen came that day under the bleachers
When we became each others sexual teachers
While our names certainly were not Jack and Jill
She soon did steal her mother’s birth control pills
Good God almighty, we did it in the park
Caring even less if it was light or dark
On weekends we made love down by the river
Where her lightest touch made my poor loins shiver
Her favorite place was in her big walk in closet
Where at fifteen I made my first deposit
By twenty we had made love a thousand times
And neither of us were anywhere past our primes
Age twenty one decided to get married
Because of the tiny twins that she carried
Age of sixty we now live in Alaska
Cause it’s sure the hell better than Nebraska
And no, we never, ever minded the cold
As it just made our deepest of love unfold
Thus I still adore my Monkey bar lover
As in she was true love I did uncover
As we sit kissing in the back of the car
Watching grandkids play on the monkey bars

Very good
This is a well written, heartfelt, and soulful piece. The images here are very vivid, and show romance, sensuality, soft erotica, and the most important of all, L O V E. Thank you for sharing this poem that shows love can be forever.

What an enjoyable read...walking the road from youth to another "youth". I liked the progression here. This is indeed how so many love stories unfold and how they should continue to be. Great rhyming here too, JD, and a delightfully authentic voice.

you sure know how to spin a tale
and make it all turn out so well
Look at that little love you shown
wonder what true love was, yet never known
Wonderfully done my friend
from start to the very end

Aw, this is so beautiful. Such a sweet story of a true love. Finding true love at the age of six? Wow, that would be amazing. Is this based on real life?
Well, anyway, thanks for sharing this tender write and best of luck to you in the contest. Hope you win gold.
